Berri uses a distributed system of fixed offshore wellhead platforms, nearshore drilling islands and onshore drill sites. The installations carry dry production trees, water-injection wellheads, production and test manifolds and well-control systems. Multiphase flowlines and trunklines deliver offshore wellstream to the gas-oil separation plant on Abu Ali Island, where crude, associated gas and produced water are separated and the crude is stabilised for pipeline transport. Reservoir-pressure support is provided by dedicated water-supply, treatment and injection facilities feeding platform and island injectors. Associated sour gas and condensate are routed through the downstream pipeline system to the Khursaniyah Gas Plant for treatment. Stabilised Arabian Light crude is transferred toward the Ju’aymah tank farm and export terminal. The downstream corridor includes 30-inch crude and 10-inch sour-condensate pipeline sections linking Abu Ali with Khursaniyah and Ju’aymah. The operating Berri–Abu Ali gas pipeline is approximately 44 kilometres long. Permanent support systems include export pumping, production and custody metering, chemical injection, electrical generation and distribution, process control, emergency shutdown, fire-and-gas detection, firewater, flare and pressure relief, telecommunications and road or marine access to the drilling islands. The offshore wellhead platforms contain no bulk storage or tanker-loading equipment. Berri’s liquids and gas leave through fixed pipelines, with final processing, storage and marine export concentrated at island and onshore facilities.
