Field

The Appomattox field is located in the Norphlet geological play in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Reservoirs are Jurassic-age sandstones with high pressure and temperature. The field is large-scale, representing a significant deepwater development with multiple reservoirs tied into a central production hub.

Facilities

Appomattox features a semi-submersible production platform with multiple subsea wells tied back via flowlines and manifolds. Facilities include high-capacity oil and gas separation trains, gas compression systems, and produced water treatment units. Oil is exported via pipeline to onshore terminals, while gas is transported through offshore gas networks. The platform includes water injection systems for reservoir pressure support and extensive subsea infrastructure including umbilicals for control and chemical injection. Power is generated onboard using gas turbines. The system is designed to accommodate future tie-backs, making it a regional processing hub. Advanced control systems manage complex operations across multiple wells and subsea systems.
