Lena

Lena is a deepwater spar platform located in the Gulf of Mexico, producing both oil and gas. Installed in 1998, it was one of the first truss spar developments in the region. The platform serves as a host for subsea wells and nearby tie-backs, providing processing and export functions via established pipeline networks.

Field

The Lena Field is situated in the Garden Banks area of the Gulf of Mexico. Reservoirs consist of Miocene deepwater sandstones deposited as turbidites. The field represents an early deepwater development with moderate reserves, utilizing a spar platform to exploit subsea wells in challenging water depths.

Facilities

The Lena spar is a truss spar structure moored in deepwater, supporting topsides facilities for hydrocarbon processing. Subsea wells are connected via flowlines and risers to the platform. The facility performs primary separation of oil, gas, and water, with oil stabilized for export via pipeline. Gas is compressed and exported through subsea gas pipelines, with a portion used for fuel gas. Produced water is treated prior to discharge. The platform includes gas compression systems, separation trains, and water handling units. Power is generated onboard using gas turbines. The spar design provides stability in deepwater and supports dry-tree wells as well as subsea tie-backs. Control systems enable remote monitoring of subsea infrastructure. Export pipelines connect to regional Gulf of Mexico networks, ensuring integration with onshore facilities.
