Field

The Gomez field is located in the Gulf of Mexico, targeting Miocene turbidite sandstone reservoirs. It is a relatively small-scale development, typical of subsea tie-backs designed to recover incremental reserves from deepwater channel and fan systems using existing host infrastructure.

Facilities

Gomez consists of subsea wells completed with subsea trees and tied into a manifold system. Multiphase production is transported via insulated flowlines to a host platform, where separation, gas compression, and produced water treatment occur. Oil is stabilised and exported via regional crude oil pipeline systems connected to the host facility, while gas is compressed and exported through offshore gas networks. Subsea umbilicals provide hydraulic control, electrical power, and chemical injection for flow assurance. Thermal insulation and continuous chemical dosing mitigate hydrate formation and wax deposition. The system operates remotely with no topside facilities at the field location. Integration with existing infrastructure minimises capital expenditure and enables efficient recovery of smaller reserves while maintaining reliable flow assurance and control.
