Intro

Ravenspurn ST3 is a steel jacket satellite wellhead and production platform installed in 1990 in Block 42/30 of the UK Southern North Sea. It serves the Ravenspurn North gas field with gas delivery to the central processing complex. It is unmanned (NUI) and linked via subsea/pipeline to central infrastructure at RNCPP.

Field

ST3 sits within the Ravenspurn North gas field, part of the Permian Rotliegend/Leman Sandstone gas system. The field spans Blocks 43/26a and 42/30, discovered in 1984 with production commencing in 1990. ST3 is one of two satellite wellhead platforms feeding the main CPP.

Facilities

ST3 hosts multiple gas wells tied back to its steel jacket, producing into dedicated pipelines leading to the Ravenspurn North Central Processing Platform (RNCPP) complex. ST3 lacks major processing equipment; instead, raw well fluids are exported into the RNCPP slug catcher and separation trains. At RNCPP, multi-phase separation, glycol dehydration, and metering prepare gas for export. WT1 and ST2 also feed the CPP, allowing centralized utilities like power generation, gas dehydration, compression, and control systems to be shared. Export via a 24-inch pipeline carries processed gas to the Cleeton hub and onward to Dimlington onshore. Unmanned platform utilities are limited to wellhead control, emergency shutdown systems, and basic support equipment; all other processing and major utilities reside at the CPP.
