Intro

AD is a steel jacket drilling and well support platform on the Inde West area of the Indefatigable field (Block 49/18). Installed in 1970, it serves as the main drilling and wellhead platform for the West Inde complex, interfacing with AP for production. It supports dry gas and condensate flow into the field export network feeding onshore terminals.

Field

Part of the broader Indefatigable gas field development, AD lies in shallow water over Rotliegendes sandstone reservoir. The field’s development uses multiple jacket platforms and subsea tie-backs to gather gas and condensate, routing through hub facilities to export points. West Inde is a key compartment developed early in the field’s life.

Facilities

AD accommodates drilling slots and wellheads for up to 12 wells. Well fluids are produced into manifolds and flowlines routed toward the AP production platform and onward to compression at AC or export infrastructure. The deck includes patch panels for well control, chemical injection facilities, and basic separation/emergency shutdown systems; detailed gas conditioning and export preparation occur at downstream facilities. Utilities comprise remote control systems, minimal power distribution (often supported by adjacent platforms), fire and gas detection, and safety systems compliant with UKCS norms. AD is linked by bridges or subsea flowlines to AP for integrated drilling/production functions. Export gas from AD/AP combinations flows through pipelines to central Inde hubs and onward through the Southern North Sea pipeline network to onshore gas processing terminals such as Bacton. Jacket design and topside layout comply with offshore safety and structural standards, enabling long-term stable operations.
