Intro
34/7 HY08 is a floating wind turbine installed as part of the Hywind Tampen offshore wind project. Commissioned in the early 2020s, it provides renewable electricity to offshore oil and gas facilities in the Norwegian North Sea.
Field
Hywind Tampen supports the energy needs of the Snorre and Gullfaks fields, reducing emissions from offshore production operations by supplementing conventional power generation.
Facilities
HY08 includes a floating spar foundation, turbine generator, and dynamic subsea export cables. The unit is unmanned, remotely operated, and designed for long-term offshore service with minimal maintenance intervention.
