Intro
Nybro is an onshore gas treatment facility and pipeline hub in western Denmark associated with the Danish North Sea gas export system. It conditions gas delivered from offshore fields for entry into the Danish transmission network and further distribution. It is onshore and not an offshore production/platform structure.
Field
Nybro connects to the Tyra II offshore hub and other Danish North Sea gas infrastructure. The associated system comprises subsea wells and platforms linked into export pipelines that deliver raw gas to Nybro for conditioning (removal of liquids, sulphur control) before onward transmission to Danish and European markets.
Facilities
Nybro’s facilities include gas conditioning trains that separate water and liquids from raw natural gas, sulphur removal systems where required, pressure regulation, and odorisation for safe transmission. Gas quality control and metering ensure exported gas meets network specifications. The plant interfaces with pipeline infrastructure (e.g., export from Tyra II) and downstream transmission networks. Utility systems encompass power supply, compressor stations, safety systems (flare, emergency shutdown), and control systems for remote monitoring and operation. Because it is onshore, Nybro’s design conforms to high-integrity pipeline station and treatment plant practice, with water handling, waste gas flaring, and environmental controls integrated into the plant layout.
