Intro
Fredericia refers to the Fredericia oil terminal and associated crude infrastructure on the east coast of Jutland, Denmark. It receives crude delivered via the Gorm-Fredericia oil pipeline system from Danish North Sea fields and conducts stabilisation, storage and export functions. It is onshore infrastructure rather than an offshore facility.
Field
The Fredericia node is tied to the Danish North Sea production system via the Gorm-Fredericia oil pipeline, which carries crude from offshore fields on the Danish continental shelf to coastal facilities. At Fredericia, crude is stabilised and storage is provided before onward distribution by tanker or pipeline to product markets.
Facilities
The Fredericia infrastructure comprises pipeline reception systems, crude stabilisation units that strip lighter hydrocarbons to meet specification, large storage tanks, and facilities for export by pipeline or marine loading. Stabilisation involves separation of light ends (e.g., LPG) and degassing to produce marketable crude. The node supports utility systems for power, water handling, flare systems for safety, and control/monitoring suites for plant operations. Fiscal metering and custody transfer systems ensure accurate tracking of inbound and outbound streams. Because it is onshore, Fredericia’s design reflects refinery feedstock preparation and export readiness rather than offshore production functionality.
