Intro
Minerva is an unmanned gas production platform in the Southern North Sea developed for the Minerva conventional gas field. Installed as a minimal facilities structure, it hosts producing wells and ties production into regional gathering and export infrastructure delivering gas to the Easington area.
Field
The Minerva field lies in the Eastern English sector of the Southern North Sea and produces conventional Rotliegendes gas. Discovered prior to production and developed with an unmanned platform, it feeds into nearby pipeline networks for processing ashore as part of the Easington Catchment Area (ECA) system.
Facilities
The Minerva installation comprises a fixed jacket supporting production well slots, Xmas trees and manifolding. There is no major processing at Minerva; produced gas flows via subsea pipelines (with subsea tie-backs from Apollo and potentially other satellites) to a central riser like the ECA hub for dehydration and conditioning before export to shore. Utilities onboard are limited to remote safety shutdown (ESD), control instrumentation power and chemical injection for flow assurance. The platform operates unmanned with remote monitoring and periodic maintenance access. Structural design supports minimal deck equipment and remote operations, with fire & gas detection and ESD logic integrated with field control systems. There are no living quarters or compression facilities; main processing and export preparation occur at centralized host facilities.
