Intro

34/7 HY09 is a floating offshore wind turbine within the Hywind Tampen development. Installed by 2023, it operates as part of a large floating wind array supplying power to offshore oil and gas installations.

Field

The Hywind Tampen wind farm is located in the Norwegian North Sea adjacent to the Snorre and Gullfaks fields, which produce hydrocarbons from Jurassic sandstone reservoirs.

Facilities

HY09 features a spar-buoy floating foundation, anchored to the seabed, and a high-capacity offshore wind turbine. Electrical output is delivered via subsea cables. The installation has no accommodation or hydrocarbon systems and is remotely monitored.
