Intro
P15A (P15-RIJN-A) is a fixed wellhead oil platform on the Netherlands continental shelf, installed in 1985 as part of the P15 Rijn field development. It produces crude oil (with associated gas) and ties into adjacent platforms (e.g., P15-C) for processing and export via export pipelines to shore.
Field
The P15 Rijn field is a conventional shallow water oil accumulation in blocks P15a/P15b of the Dutch North Sea. Discovered in the early 1980s, it yields oil with associated gas from clastic reservoirs, developed with multiple platforms and subsea completions to support production and export.
Facilities
P15A hosts production wells tied into manifolds feeding crude and associated gas to the broader P15 complex. Its wellhead functions interface with processing platforms like P15-C, where primary separation, stabilization and gas conditioning occur. Crude is metered and exported through subsea pipelines to onshore terminals; associated gas may be routed through the P15 area’s gas treatment infrastructure (e.g., P15-D). Utilities include local power generation, safety systems (ESD, firewater), and remote monitoring. The platform’s design emphasizes integration into the P15/P18 hub infrastructure, supporting sustained oil production and export operations with routine maintenance via vessel/air logistics.
