Intro
Gorm B is a fixed steel jacket wellhead platform in the Gorm field, installed in late 1979 to expand drilling and production capacity. Like Gorm A, it produces oil and gas to the central processing hub at Gorm C. It is part of a tightly spaced cluster of interconnected platforms in shallow (~39-m) water and lacks significant independent processing capability.
Field
The Gorm reservoir delivers hydrocarbons from Danian and Upper Cretaceous chalk. The field’s development strategy emphasized multiple wellhead platforms tied into centralized processing to manage reservoir complexity and enhance recovery through water injection.
Facilities
Gorm B’s infrastructure includes well slots for oil and associated gas wells that feed into the wider Gorm cluster. Well fluids are routed via short bridge and pipeline connections to the processing platform Gorm C, which handles separation, gas conditioning, produced water treatment, and stabilization. Gorm B supports remote operations with power for well control, safety systems, and telemetry, relying on Gorm C for bulk utility services. Processed hydrocarbons are exported through the Gorm C and Gorm E systems: oil via pipeline to shore and gas via subsea export to the Tyra gas hub. Supporting systems include emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection, and basic electrical distribution. The platform’s configuration reflects a modular hub-and-spoke design that maximizes shared processing capacity.
