Intro

Brigantine BG is a normally unattended fixed steel jacket platform in the Southern North Sea’s Block 49/19, installed circa 2000. It supports gas production from the Brigantine field’s B accumulation. The platform’s role is to provide well support and initial gathering before export via tie-ins to nearby processing complexes. It produces dry gas and condensate where present.

Field

The Brigantine field comprises three sub-accumulations (A, B, C) in Permian reservoir rocks in the UK Southern North Sea. Brigantine B and BG primarily develop the B accumulation, a modest gas accumulation discovered in the 1990s. Development emphasizes cost-efficient fixed structures with pipeline ties to central processing installations such as the Leman Alpha or Corvette hubs.

Facilities

Brigantine BG is a four-leg steel jacket with topside manifold and well support facilities for several production wells. The installation is unmanned and remotely monitored, with tiebacks to nearby host platforms or processing hubs. Well fluids are routed via subsea pipelines to Corvette or other processing installations where separation, dehydration, and compression occur. Utilities on BG are limited to chemical injection (e.g., methanol for hydrate prevention), basic power for controls (delivered via umbilicals where available), and instrumentation. There is no significant processing plant on BG itself; its primary function is as a satellite gathering node. Produced gas enters the regional pipeline network after host processing, with export via onshore terminals. Safety and control systems include remote shutdown valves and emergency isolation.
