Intro

The Bleo Holm is a purpose-built Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit installed in 1999 in the UK Central North Sea. It serves the Ross, Parry and Blake fields, producing oil and associated gas from subsea wells. It provides primary processing, storage, export to shuttle tankers and gas export functions, with accommodation and helideck facilities.

Field

The Ross, Parry and Blake fields are oil/condensate and associated gas reservoirs in UKCS Block 13/28a/13/28c/13/29. The Ross and Parry accumulations were discovered in the mid-1990s and Blake was tied in shortly after initial FPSO commissioning. Reservoirs are typical North Sea sandstones with production via subsea templates and flowlines to the FPSO.

Facilities

Bleo Holm’s hull and topsides are designed to receive multiphase fluids from subsea wells and process them on board. Incoming fluids enter slug catchers and 3-phase separators to split oil, gas and produced water. Stabilized crude is stored in the FPSO hull tanks and periodically offloaded to shuttle tankers via tandem mooring or loading buoy systems. Separated gas is partly used as fuel for power generation and utility needs; surplus gas may be exported via connection to regional gas export pipelines. The water treatment system handles produced water to meet discharge criteria. Accommodation and control systems support personnel for operations and maintenance, with a helideck for crew changes. Power is supplied by gas turbines and auxiliary diesel generators. The design emphasizes robust processing, storage, export, and long-term offshore operational reliability.
