Intro
The Malory Platform is a fixed offshore gas production platform in the Southern North Sea, installed in the late 1990s. It serves as a wellhead and gathering installation producing natural gas and feeding into regional processing hubs and export pipelines.
Field
The Malory gas field lies in UK Block 48/12, producing dry gas from Permian sandstone reservoirs typical of Southern North Sea developments. It is developed with minimal facilities, acting primarily as a satellite to larger processing infrastructure and export networks.
Facilities
Malory’s steel jacket supports wellhead slots and manifolds that gather gas from multiple wells. The platform lacks significant processing plant; produced gas is metered and routed via subsea pipelines to larger processing installations such as Cleeton or other nearby hubs for separation, dehydration and compression. Utilities include remote monitoring and control systems, chemical injection for hydrate and corrosion control, and basic power supply for instrumentation. Safety systems include emergency shutdown, remote isolation and periodic maintenance access by helicopter. The simple architecture reflects a design for unmanned or minimally manned operation, with export gas entering regional pipeline systems to onshore terminals.
