Intro
Ravenspurn C is a fixed steel jacket wellhead platform in the Ravenspurn South gas field, installed in 1989 in Block 42/30 of the Southern North Sea. It produces natural gas and feeds directly into export infrastructure without on-platform separation. It is part of the South A/B/C cluster.
Field
The C installation serves the Ravenspurn South gas field, a Permian sandstone reservoir discovered in 1983 with first production in 1989. The field development uses multiple small platforms tied into the Cleeton hub for central processing and export to onshore facilities.
Facilities
Ravenspurn C supports several production wells on a small steel jacket but, unlike A and B, well fluids are exported by pipeline directly to the Cleeton hub without dedicated separators on C itself. At Cleeton, gas is processed, dehydrated, metered, and exported onshore. C’s lack of local separation means simpler topside equipment focused on flowlines, well control, and safety systems. Utilities on C are limited to necessary power distribution for well operations and emergency shutdown systems. Integration into the field’s pipeline infrastructure ensures continuous gas delivery to the UK network via Cleeton and onward to Dimlington. C’s design reflects a minimalist approach, reducing platform complexity while leveraging existing regional processing hubs.
