Intro
Clipper PH is a fixed steel accommodation and utilities platform within the Clipper gas complex in UK Block 48/19a, southern North Sea. Installed as part of the Clipper development around 1990, it provides living quarters, control, and support facilities for the hub. It is bridge-linked to the production, compression, and wellhead platforms.
Field
The Clipper gas field lies in the Sole Pit Basin and produces dry gas from Lower Permian Leman Sandstone reservoirs. Developed as a multi-platform hub, the field relies on shared accommodation and utilities to support continuous offshore gas production and export to Bacton.
Facilities
Clipper PH houses the main accommodation block for the Clipper complex, including sleeping quarters, galley, medical facilities, offices, and recreational areas. It also accommodates the central control room overseeing production, processing, and compression across the hub. Utilities include power generation or distribution, instrument air, potable water, sewage treatment, HVAC, and communications systems. The platform supports helideck operations and emergency response coordination. Bridge links connect PH to the production (PT), compression (PC), and wellhead (PW) platforms, allowing safe personnel transfer and shared services. Safety systems include fire and gas detection, deluge systems, lifeboats, and emergency shutdown interfaces. PH plays a stable, long-term role as the operational and living centre of the Clipper field infrastructure.
