Intro

Eldfisk S-BS is a bridge support structure at the Eldfisk field in the southern Norwegian North Sea. It provides structural support for the bridge connection between the Eldfisk E (water injection) and Eldfisk S platforms within the Eldfisk II redevelopment.

Field

Eldfisk is an oil and gas field just south of Ekofisk, producing from fractured chalk formations similar to Ekofisk. It was discovered in 1970 and has been in production since 1979, with Eldfisk S being the integrated facility installed in 2015.

Facilities

Eldfisk S-BS acts as a supporting jacket for the bridge span between secondary modules in the Eldfisk complex. It is not a processing or drilling platform but a structural component engineered to transfer loads between primary facilities (Eldfisk E and Eldfisk S). It includes walkways, utility trays for power and communications, and safety barriers that integrate with the Eldfisk platforms’ fire and gas systems. Hydraulics and electrical cables pass over the bridge supported by BS, linking control and emergency systems. Designed for long-term exposure to North Sea weather and wave conditions, Eldfisk S-BS ensures integrity and alignment of the bridge, contributing to safe personnel transit and reliable utility distribution between major installations.
