Intro

P11-Unity is a minimum-facilities wellhead platform in Block P11b of the Dutch North Sea, installed in October 2020. With a compact design (~395-tonnes), it supports gas production from modest accumulations (Witte de With and Van Ghent East) and is tied back to the host P11-B-De Ruyter platform for processing and export.

Field

The P11b Unity development accesses gas accumulations such as Witte de With and Van Ghent East in the P11b area, part of the broader De Ruyter field complex. These modest gas reservoirs are conventional accumulations developed via a small wellhead platform and tied back to central processing facilities at De Ruyter.

Facilities

P11-Unity’s infrastructure is designed for simplicity and cost-efficiency: as a minimum-facilities wellhead platform, it contains well slots and basic manifolds for production from connected wells. There is no significant processing onboard; produced gas is routed via subsea pipelines and control umbilicals to the host P11-B-De Ruyter platform where separation, dehydration, compression and export conditioning occur. The platform’s structural form is a lightweight tripod or small jacket with risers designed for unmanned or remotely accessed operations. Utilities are minimal, often limited to subsea control power, umbilical connections, and navigational aids; marine access is the primary maintenance route. Control and communications systems interface directly with De Ruyter’s central processing and safety systems. Export of gas follows the De Ruyter export pipeline network. Key stable features are the subsea tie-back infrastructure, remote control systems, and small wellhead facilities optimized for marginal field development.
