Intro

Hamilton North is an unmanned fixed offshore gas production platform in the Hamilton North sub-area of Liverpool Bay, UK Block 110/13a. First gas came online in the mid-1990s. It produces dry gas which is piped to the Douglas Complex, then onshore to Point of Ayr for processing and grid entry.

Field

The Hamilton North gas field is adjacent to the main Hamilton field in Liverpool Bay, with Triassic sandstone reservoirs developed as part of the broader Liverpool Bay gas cluster. Production from Hamilton North commenced in the mid-1990s with gas exported to regional processing and onshore terminals.

Facilities

Hamilton North hosts several production wells on a steel jacket structure with wellheads feeding into manifolds and subsea pipelines tied back to the Douglas Complex. There is no significant topside separation or gas conditioning; bulk processing (3-phase separation, dehydration, compression and metering) is performed at Douglas before export to the Point of Ayr Gas Terminal. Utilities consist of remote monitoring/control systems, basic safety and emergency shutdown functions, and power distribution sized for unmanned operation. Instrument air and chemical injection points support flow assurance and corrosion control, with communications linked to onshore and Douglas facilities. The platform’s design reflects its role as a satellite producer in the Liverpool Bay cluster, integrating with existing pipelines and processing hubs while minimizing offshore footprint.
