Intro

A fixed steel jacket riser tower installed in 1990 as part of the Beryl field infrastructure. It does not carry accommodation but provides structural support for risers and gas compression equipment enabling gas export from the field into the UK pipeline system.

Field

The riser tower serves the Beryl oilfield, which encompasses the primary Beryl reservoirs in Block 9/13a of the UK North Sea. The field produces oil and associated gas from Triassic and Jurassic sandstone formations. Riser infrastructure enables gas handling and export from the mature field complex.

Facilities

The riser tower connects subsea and platform flowlines to compression and export facilities. It houses gas risers feeding compression trains and accommodation for conduit support, enabling high-pressure export into the SAGE pipeline. Oil lines from Beryl B and subsea tie-backs are routed through the riser structure to processing modules on Beryl A. Structural design focuses on support for multiple risers under dynamic loading, with cable trays, umbilical guides and safety systems. It includes access platforms, control interfaces and utility tie-ins for electrical, telecommunications and instrumentation. The riser tower facilitates gas lift and reinjection circuits while its compression systems boost gas for export. Its robust four-leg jacket supports heavy pipework and risers in ~117-m water depth.
