Intro
Semi-submersible integrated production, drilling and quarters platform (PDQ) on the Snorre field in the northern North Sea, first production in 2001. It processes wellstreams and provides living quarters while supporting regional export.
Field
Snorre Field – Oil and gas field in the Tampen area, discovered 1979, producing since 1992. Reservoirs are Triassic/Lower Jurassic sandstones; the field deployment includes Snorre A (TLP) and Snorre B semi-submersible, plus subsea tie-backs, with long production life extended by subsea expansion.
Facilities
Snorre B’s facilities include production and injection wells, subsea tie-backs to templates, integrated first and second stage separation, gas compression for reinjection, and water treatment systems. Its drilling rig supports infill drilling and workovers. Wellstreams from Snorre B are processed to separate oil, gas and water; stabilized oil is exported via pipeline (~30–45-km) to Statfjord B for storage/export, and gas is managed for reinjection or export via Statpipe and Tampen link. Power generation is via onboard turbines with supporting utilities, including fire-water, produced-water handling, chemical dosing, and utilities. Accommodation is integrated into the PDQ design. Control systems interface with field control centers. Subsea monitoring, riser support, and safety systems (ESD, fire & gas) are permanent features for stable long-term operations.
