Intro
Kvitebjørn is a fixed steel jacket platform in the northern North Sea producing gas and condensate since 2004. It processes hydrocarbons from its own wells and serves as a processing point for gas from fields such as Valemon, exporting to onshore facilities for further transport.
Field
The Kvitebjørn field, discovered in 1994, lies in the North Sea and produces gas and condensate from deep reservoirs. The development includes integrated platform processing for export via pipelines to onshore gas terminals at Kollsnes (gas) and Mongstad (condensate).
Facilities
Kvitebjørn’s jacket platform hosts processing trains for gas and condensate separation, compression to pipeline pressure, dehydration and metering systems. Gas exports via sub-sea pipeline to Kollsnes feed into the national grid; condensate travels via pipeline to Mongstad for further fractionation. Wellstreams from Kvitebjørn’s wells enter multiphase separators topside before phase separation; water handling systems manage produced water. Utilities include power generation, safety and fire systems, and control systems integrated with the Gassco transport network. The installation accommodates accommodation modules, helideck facilities, and redundancy in power and control systems to support long-term operation in ~190-m water depth.
