Intro
G14-A is a fixed normally unmanned gas platform in the Dutch North Sea, installed in 2005 as part of the G14 gas field cluster. It serves as a satellite production and gathering facility, routing natural gas from its wells into nearby processing and export infrastructure in the G-quadrant.
Field
The G14 field, located north of Terschelling in the Southern North Sea, comprises conventional Rotliegendes sandstone gas reservoirs developed through satellite platforms tied into central processing hubs and export pipelines.
Facilities
G14-A’s infrastructure includes drilled production wells feeding into manifolds and flowlines that link to central processing platforms in the G-block complex. Topside equipment typically features flow metering and minimal conditioning before export. The platform supports unmanned operations with remote control, SCADA systems, emergency shutdown, fire/gas detection, and basic utilities such as instrument air and essential power from local generators sized to support controls and communications. Subsea flowlines connect G14-A to the wider export network feeding gas to onshore treatment and distribution systems. Structural design accommodates offshore environmental loads, and periodic maintenance by service vessels sustains topside and subsea integrity.
