Intro
L5-FA-1 is a fixed gas production platform in the Dutch North Sea, operational since the early 1990s and producing gas from the L5-FA field. It connects to subsea pipelines feeding processing and export infrastructure to shore.
Field
The L5-FA field produces conventional natural gas from reservoirs offshore northwest of Den Helder. It was developed alongside other small fields and integrated into the national pipeline network (NOGAT) for export to onshore treatment plants.
Facilities
Facilities on L5-FA-1 include production wellheads with associated manifold and flow control, initial gas separation, dehydration and metering ahead of export to central processing and export infrastructure. The platform supports utilities such as power generation, firewater, safety shutdown (ESD), and control systems for remote operation. Gas exported from the platform enters subsea trunk pipelines that deliver to onshore facilities for further treatment and delivery to the Dutch gas grid.
